Fashion Blogger, Nancy Mwai:Get the car that makes you happy

Living

What type of car do you drive?

A black BMW 320i Highline edition

She looks sophisticated, what nickname have you christened her?

Sharkeisha. The name started off as a joke but stuck with time.

What modifications have you made to the car to give it a personal touch?

No modifications, the car has all the extras I need.

What ‘girly’ stuff do you carry in the car?

Apart from a change of shoes, nothing else. Does an infant car seat count as girly?

What type of driver are you? Fast and furious or cautious and calculating?

I am a very chilled out and easy driver to the extent that my husband keeps telling me I need to drive faster. Sigh!

What is your dream car?

Aston Martin DB9. It has supremely elegant styling, bespoke interior, timeless lines and impeccably appointed cabin.

If you were stranded on the road with a flat tyre, what would you do to get help?

I would change it because I can actually change a flat tyre.

If you had the privilege of a siren on your car, what outrageous thing would you do?

Evade traffic any day.

What do you do to kill time in traffic?

I am on Instagram most of the time posting selfies and blasting music. The car has an amazing sound system.

What habit would you not tolerate from the people you carry in the car?

Messing with my music to suit their preference. If I am listening to Mugithi that day, you are not allowed to change to something else.

What advice would you give a lady who wants to buy a car?

Go for what makes you happy and what you are comfortable with in terms of maintenance.

On average, how much do you spend on fuel?

An average of Sh5,000 a month. It is for this reason I love my car as it saves on fuel expenses. More specifically the consumption while driving in town averages 9km/L and 14km/L while on the highway.

What is the worst driving experience you have had?

I have not had any. Thank God.

What one thing have you learnt about driving that was never taught in driving school?

How to navigate in town with all the matatu madness. I find the best way is just to give them way rather than be caught up in unnecessary competition.

What was the first car you ever drove?

A Honda Fit.

When was your first ever driving lesson?

That was in 2005 after high school when I attended Rocky Driving School.
