Juliet met her husband — Joel Darche — when he came to Kenya in 2007. They met at a club on his second night in town.
She recalls the magic moment like it was yesterday: “When people say everything stops when you meet your better half, it is not a joke. It happened to me. I was shy when we met. We didn’t talk because I had company but when my friend left to use the ladies, we began talking and the rest is history,” she says.
They have two daughters — Savannah Georgie Darche who is three and a half, and Summer Rose Darche who is 11 months.
The couple got married in August last year at Karura Forest in the presence of 250 guests.
“He is a great dad to our girls. He is a businessman but ever since the children came, he tries to work at home so that he can spend time with them,” she says.
To keep their love fresh and strong, the couple has a date night every Friday.
“I love these dates. It helps us spend quality time and talk,” she explains.
What does she do for fun?
“I love to cook. My firstborn daughter also enjoys cooking with me and so we have a nice mother and daughter time. I also love my glass of sparkling champagne and a nice quite time. It helps me reflect and plan. I enjoy spending time with my friends and I also love visiting my husband at his place of work, where we talk and hangout.”
