Self-proclaimed president of single mothers Esther Akoth better known to her fans as Akothee, was yesterday, July 4, overwhelmed with joy after one of her fans posted a picture of their car with her face printed on it.

Responding to the lovely gesture shown by the user identified as Joseph, Akothee expressed her gratitude to her fan, offering him a dinner date hoping that she could ride in the car.

"Love you right back Joseph. This is a message enough to carry me through 2021. Let's have a dinner date you carry me in your car," she wrote.

However, this is not the first time Akothee has gone out of her way to appreciate her fans, who go the extra mile to show her love.

Sometime in May, the mother of five called upon netizens to help her locate a fan that posted a picture with her family supporting the brands she had been appointed to promote.

According to Akothee, the pure love and appreciation shown by the user could not go unrewarded.

"Someone help me find this family. A family can't consume my brands and be ignored. The boy is drinking Orchid Valley. See his smile, all the way from Peptang and the photo taken with Tecno and it's A Camon, eish. No no no, this is love, pure love. Whose family is this, I want to send her love and appreciation," she wrote.

Unfortunately, the singer's efforts to appreciate some of her fans don't turn out as well as she anticipated.

About a year ago, Akothee was forced to disown one of her fans turned adopted son, Shadrack, for allegedly taking advantage of the help she offered him.

The singer recalled when she first found Shadrack, saying he had no one. She then took it upon herself to ensure he got the best, only to find out he was lying.

"Mission accomplished. Shadrack Mwita has fully recovered now and can hold and carry heavy things, he can stand on his feet and fend for himself other than begging due to disability, he was back in the hospital APDK for 3 weeks, to have his legs permanently fixed, which has been successfully achieved. However, I had to learn how to detach the foundation from interfering with my private life and family life. Shadrack's family reappeared in the picture and the pressure was too much for me to handle.

"This was a shock to me, as before this, he had started becoming very negative and moody. This was scary; I didn't know how to handle this. When I met Shadrack, he had told me he had no one. This was three days after we left the hospital during lockdown/curfew on the 12.6.2020," said Akothee.

Even with the disappointment, the singer who delights in helping the needy relaunched her foundation, Akothee Foundation, after suffering loses brought about by mixing her private life with her business.

"We are back like we never left. I have collected enough energy and promise never to be broken by ungrateful people. I have now learnt how to detach my private life from what my heart feels for others," she wrote.
