Naomi Campbell says she had Bob Marley's music playing at the moment she became a mum.

Naomi Campbell has shed light on the moment she became a mother.

The supermodel, 51, announced she welcomed a baby girl this month and had not shared that she was expecting a tot.

And now she has revealed a detail about the moment her daughter entered the world.

Speaking on her YouTube series No Filter, alongside guest D-Nice, the cover star told how she often turns to music during "special moments" of her life and also how Bob Marley's music was playing when she became a first-time mum.

Model Naomi Campbell has revealed details about the arrival of her daughter, saying "I just became a mum, I had Bob Marley playing".

Naomi touched on the importance of African music and her heritage as she said: "Music is like... In my most special moments, you know I just became a mum, I had Bob Marley playing. That's my roots, you know? It's my roots."

Last Tuesday, Naomi sent fans into a frenzy when she took to social media to share that she had welcomed a baby.

The star has not confirmed the exact date that the little girl arrived or the name she has chosen for her firstborn.

Naomi made the special announcement on her Instagram account.

She called her new arrival "a little blessing" and an "angel" as she told her followers "there is no greater love" and illustrated the post with a photo.

In the snap, Naomi cradled the baby's feet in her hands while the little one appeared to be wrapped in a pink silk blanket embroidered with flowers.

Naomi wrote: "A beautiful little blessing has chosen me to be her mother.

"So honoured to have this gentle soul in my life there are no words to describe the lifelong bond that I now share with you my angel.

"There is no greater love."

Naomi had not announced she was expecting a baby and only revealed the news after her baby girl was born when she tweeted the photo.

Fans have been speculation as to who is the father of Naomi's tot.

A source claims that the catwalk queen is living in America with her new partner - who she is "really happy" with and that the first coronavirus lockdown led to her making the decision to start a family.

"Naomi has really mellowed in the past year and is in a wonderful place in life," they told The Sun.

"She has been living in America with her boyfriend and is really happy. It finally felt like the perfect time to become a mother and she is over the moon."

Adding how the British model made the decision to become a parent, the source continued: "The first lockdown allowed her to stop and take stock of the important things and she decided now was the time to properly look into starting a family."
