The press release for the series describes it as "an honest look back at some of the most trying times in Lovato's life as she unearths her prior traumas and discovers the importance of her physical, emotional, and mental health."

These traumas likely refer to Lovato's near-fatal overdose back in 2018. Demi went on to speak out on World Suicide Prevention Day in September last year.

The Cool for the Summer singer said: "Today is World Suicide Prevention Day. Since a young age I've dealt with suicidal thoughts and depression. I've been very vocal in raising the awareness of mental health because it is possible to see the light when you start the work on yourself."
