Gere, which has over 22 million views on YouTube, is a steamy afrobeat track that borrows a smooth bongo feel and plays out like a back and forth conversation between the couple. The song’s title- Gere is a Swahili word for jealousy. In the video, the two wittily mock those who envy their romance, and Tanasha’s autotuned, soulful voice warns her lover never to cheat.
