Music producer Magix Enga demanded for a Sh200 million payment within a week, warning of dire consequences.

An audit report has brought to light the misappropriation of artists’ royalties by the Music Copyright Society of Kenya (MCSK), Performers Rights Society of Kenya (PRISK) and Kenya Association of Music Producers (KAMP). Top artists, among them Khaligraph Jones, Nonini, Otile Brown and Willy Paul have called for the prosecution of the perpetrators and the refund of the lost monies. In an Instagram post addressing the CMos, music producer Magix Enga demanded for a Sh200 million payment within a week, warning of dire consequences.

Just a few months ago, American Rapper Daniel Hernandez alias Tekashi 6ix9ine was subjected to a major setback after his song GOOBA got pulled down from YouTube over a copyright claim by Magix Enga. The producer was paid his dues and the video was put back up on YouTube.
