Blogger Edgar Obare will spend the weekend in custody at Gigiri Police Station following his arrest on Thursday, July 30. This is according to colleague and friend, social media personality Aurther Mandela alias Xtian Dela.
Taking to Instagram on visiting the popular blogger who was arrested after he was summoned by sleuths from the Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI), Dela claimed that their efforts to secure his release on bail were scuttled by an unnamed ‘bigshot’. According to Dela, the ‘big shot’ is out to teach Obare a lesson.
“We have been unable to secure bail for Edgar Obare because of “someone big”. He will spend two more nights at Gigiri Police station and appear in court on Monday. “Someone Big” has to teach him a lesson. This country!!! #FreeEdgarObare,” read Dela’s post. The visit came after Dela alongside other personalities on Friday, July 31 claimed that Obare was in danger at the station.
“Guys, Edgar Obare is not safe!! This is not a joke!! The information I’m getting from Gigiri Police station is not good at all!!” he posted. Making the Thursday swoop public, Obare via Instagram said that his arrest was effected at his home by several law enforcement personnel. “As I said earlier I was summoned by the DCI. Today morning I was arrested by very many officers at my home. Now am headed to Nairobi. Thank you for your undying support,” he wrote.

According to sources, Obare rubbed a senior official the wrong way after he exposed Natalie Tewa’s visa details, alleging that she recently travelled to Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE). Obare is said to have courted more trouble after the plates of an Audi vehicle that she reportedly recently purchased were also displayed online.
