Kanye West has taken a fresh swipe at the "controlling people" who tried to talk him out of running for president. The 43-year-old musician, who recently made several explosive remarks on social media, is pushing ahead with a controversial campaign for the US presidency.

Shortly after sharing an invalid poll result that ranked him leading Donald Trump and Joe Biden in the Kentucky race, the dad of four appeared to celebrate the news in a series of erratic tweets. At one point, he called on his 30.9 million Twitter fans to never concede to the controlling people that are trying to 'kill your spirit'.

The message comes months after his wife Kim Kardashian allegedly urged Kanye to step away from the presidential race to focus on his mental health.

In Kanye's latest tweet, the Yeezy designer did not hold back as he celebrated his apparent position in the polls. He wrote: "PEOLE TRIED TO TALK ME OUT OF RUNNING FOR PRESIDENT... NEVER LET WEAK CONTROLLING PEOPLE KILL YOUR SPIRIT."

In another post he spoke about getting the West Wing of the White House ready for his arrival. "GET THE WEST WING READY !!! ... this is how I felt when I saw that Kentucky pole result," he wrote.

In the original image, Jo Jorgensen was winning the race with 36% of the vote, with former child actor Brock Pierce in second place with 29% while Kanye came in third with 19%. Despite Kanye's excitement over the poll, the results have since been confirmed as "invalid" and they had simply been used by the news agency as a test. Kanye's cryptic swipe at those who tried to stop his presidential bid came months after Kim reportedly tried to convince Kanye to abandon the race.

An insider speaking to People explained in July: "Kim urged Kanye to not move forward with running for president, but he won't listen." In yet another explosive allegation in July, the musician accused his wife and his mother-in-law Kris Jenner of trying to 'lock him up'.
