Approximately three years after starting his YouTube channel, Tanzanian singer Mbwana Yusuph Kilungi better known by his stage name Mbosso has managed to reach the most coveted one million subscriber mark.
The elated Tamba crooner shared the exciting news on his social media thanking his fans for the immense support that has enabled his music brand to grow. “Hey every one my name is Mbosso Khan from WCB Wasafi. I would like to take this opportunity to say a hearty thank you to you my fans, my die hard, those that have supported me from day one till today. We have hit 1 million subscribers on our YouTube channel and it’s because of you and me.
“I just want to say thank you again for your support. Stay tuned to my YouTube channel, I have so much good things in store for you. I love you all very much and may God bless you,” he said. The singer went on to jokingly ask his fans to drop their residential pins so that he can deliver the newly acquired golden plaque to their houses so that they can pose for a picture with it and celebrate together and.
“A million subscribers @kimkayndo ???? @papykhan_. Eheee! Tell me which area you all reside in so that I can pass this one million golden plaque award to you to pose and take a memorable picture with it as well,” he added.
Mbosso first rose to fame about two years ago after he was signed under the famous Tanzanian record label WCB where he released his first hit songs Hodari and Nadekezwa. The scale just keeps going upwards for the singer as he recently celebrated his famous track Hodari for garnering 35 million streams. This comes not too long after he announced that his song Tamba had been doing extremely well on the digital platforms with over 10 million streams months after being released.
“Wimbo Wenu Pendwa #Tamba Sasa Umefikisha Streams Milioni 10 (10,000,000,) kwenye Digital Platforms. Asante Sana Kwa Upendo wenu na Mwenyezi Mungu awabariki Sana,” Mbosso wrote.
Although his music career was suddenly shaken by grief after he lost his long term girlfriend and mother of his now 5 year old son, Mbosso did not allow the anguish to get the better part of him as he has continued to rock the airwaves with his breathtaking love songs.
Mbosso’s big win comes a few days after his boss Diamond Platnumz celebrated hitting 4 million subscribers on YouTube.
“4 Million Subscribers on Youtube...I couldn’t have gotten this far if it weren’t for you my fans,” he wrote.
The WCB boss currently stands as the most followed Tanzanian artiste followed by his record label signee Ravyanny whose subscribers stand at 1.96 Million. Rayvanny is closely followed by Harmonize with 1.95 million subscribers then comes Mbosso with 1 million. Back in Kenya, popular comedian Churchill remains the most followed celebrity on YouTube with 1.38million subscribers.
