Activist Boniface Mwangi and his family was on Sunday involved in an accident along Mombasa road allegedly caused by a drunk driver.

While assuring his supporters that his family is safe, the activist said that besides being drunk, the driver had no driving licence.

“Drunk driver has been breathalyzered and found to be drunk and no DL. He has been arrested. Alcohol impounded. I have been told to go on Monday and get a police abstract. My family is safe. Thank you George Dass for stopping, ensuring everyone was safe and staying all through,”

Mwangi also said that it is important for one to wear safety belts while driving as did the driver as he came out from the accident unscathed.

“Important lesson from last night, safety belts saves lives. The drunk driver who hit us from behind had belted up. When we removed him from the car wreck, he was disoriented, staggering but luckily unscathed. @KenyaRedCross examined him on the spot and he was fine. Belt up, be safe.”
