Embakasi East MP Babu Owino is hosting popular Ugandan politician Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine in Kenya for a period of five days.
Owino extended the invite to Wine in his capacity as Secretary General of the Kenya Young Parliamentarians Association.
The politician will be leading a group of young Ugandans MPs and is expected to speak on several issues affecting the youth in East Africa.
He touched down at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi, on Wednesday, October 10 and said that he was glad to be in the country.
“Safely landed in Nairobi, Kenya this evening. Thank you, Kenyan brothers and sisters, for the warm welcome. Looking forward to spending a few days with you,” tweeted Wine.
According to Owino, the legislator who is visiting Kenya for the first time after his return from the US will initiate “linkages between like-minded youth leaders across the continent."
"During Honorable Kyagulanyi’s stay, we will collectively engage with various stakeholders to advance the youth agenda within African democracies.
“The purpose of this visit is therefore to initiate the development of linkages between like-minded youth leaders across the continent with a view to improving youth participation in respective democracies," said Babu Owino
The Embakasi East MP also hinted that he has a big announcement and he will make it public on Saturday, October 13th during a rally at Jacaranda grounds.
"The peak of this engagement will be a meet the people tour of Embakasi East constituency culminating in a public rally at Jacaranda Grounds on Saturday, October 13th at 2:00pm where I will make an earth-shaking announcement," read part of his statement.
