A punch-up between two rival French rappers descended into a mass brawl in the departure lounge of Paris' Orly airport today.

The fight forced the brief closure of one terminal and caused numerous flight delays.

Some passengers scurried for safety while others took videos on their phones as it all kicked off between rappers Booba and Kaaris and their minders.

Video footage shows them as they swung punches at each other and lashed out with kicks and crashed through cosmetics stands in a duty-free shop.

People can be heard screaming in the background of the clip as the group lay blows on each other.

Those involved in the brawl fall to the floor as they're kicked and punched by their rivals.

A border police spokesman said the two artists had been arrested along with nine others from their entourages.

ADP, which manages Orly, said in a statement on Twitter that the airport's terminal one was temporarily shut following a passenger dispute.

Booba, whose name is Elie Yaffa, has been involved in disputes with other singers on the French hip hop scene in the past.

The 41-year-old was a break dancer before forming a duo called Lunatic with his pal Ali.

He has been a solo artist since 2002 and has sold more than 10 million records and is the most legally downloaded artist in French history.
