An MP is on the county radar after a person he travelled with from Nairobi last week to attend a funeral tested positive for the coronavirus.
The entire weekend, the Covid-19 emergency response team has been mopping up contact persons of the 46-year-old man believed to be a resident of Kebirigo in Nyamira South sub-county.
Governor John Nyagarama said so far, 14 of the people the victim interacted with had been traced and were being held at the Kenya Medical Training College Quarantine centre.
There were fears of breach of designated health protocols during the funeral attended by hundreds of mourners.
Some mourners did not wear masks and didn't observe social distancing regulations.
