A city lawyer has moved to High Court, again, over alleged failure by Baringo County Government to pay him Sh17.5 million legal fees.
Lawyer Donald Kipkorir says the county government refused to act even after the High Court issued an order that he be paid.
In May 2015, the lawyer was hired to represent Baringo against Turkana County, which had sued over boundary dispute.
“I acted for the county in the case until a judgement was given in their (Baringo’s) favour. They initially refused to settle my legal fees, forcing me to move to High Court,” he said.
In June last year, Justice John Mativo ordered that he be paid Sh17.5 million. He wants the court to compel the government to pay him within five days.
