Teachers’ Service Commission (TSC) Secretary Nancy Macharia has stated that she has received a list of 40 teachers involved in education malpractice from Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC).
Speaking during the release of the 2017 KCSE results at Nairobi School, Mrs Macharia pointed out if found culpable, the teachers will be dismissed and deregistered.
“We will take stern action against them” stated Mrs Macharia, echoing similar sentiments by President Uhuru and Education CS Fred Mating'i
The TSC boss further warned private schools against engaging the deregistered teachers as this will result in deregistration of the schools.
She also hailed the examiners for completing the marking in short time period.
“By completing the marking in record time, our teaching fraternity has shown us that they comprise of unsung heroes in our country,” stated Mrs Macharia.
