President Uhuru Kenyatta and First Lady Margaret were at Aga Khan Hospital to witness the birth of their grandchild.
Uhuru’s son Jomo and Fiona Achola welcomed baby Wanjiru at the Nairobi based hospital.
The president and first lady later took a group photo with midwives and doctors at the hospital after the successful delivery.
Jomo and Achola held their traditional wedding last year and have in recent times been out of the limelight.
A heavily pregnant Achola was spotted last week alongside Jomo and Margaret Kenyatta at Marula Manor in Nairobi.
The baby’s delivery came a day before Uhuru’s inauguration and was named Wanjiru after the first lady.
