A boda boda rider and his girlfriend have been jailed for killing a businesswoman.
Tobias Onyango and his girlfriend, Eunice Odoyo, were found guilty of killing Phoebe Ondiek at North Kamagak Location in Rachuonyo South sub-county on October 8, 2015.
Onyango has been jailed for 25 years while Odoyo will serve 20 years. The High Court found that the accused stabbed Ms Ondiek and fatally wounded her before robbing her.
Prosecutor Vallerie Ongeti described how the accused violently accosted Ondiek, who was the treasurer of a local self-help group.
“The evidence adduced by various witnesses has convinced the court the two were involved in the murder of the innocent businesswoman,” said Justice Joseph Karanja.
“The court therefore concludes that the accused persons assaulted, robbed and fatally injured the deceased.”
The judge gave them 14 days to appeal before being taken to Homa Bay prison.
