The American 18th century clergyman, Norman Vincent Peale, was divinely inspired when he said: “Every problem has in it the seeds of its own solution. If you don’t have any problems, you don’t get any seeds.” From experience, I guess that his wisdom was informed by a challenge whose solution looked far and distant, perhaps ungraspable. To imagine a world where problems didn’t exist is to try to create a utopian illusion whose deceit is laughable. And to imagine that problems are alien and strange to our existence is to defy the natural actuality that human beings are indeed the worst problem to themselves. Let me be candid about this; you have no problem, you are the problem!

Everything you will ever build: A home, a marriage, a company, a business or a church ministry shall all be a reflection not of what you can do, or what you have but of who you are. Who you are is what you have become over time and if so, who you have not yet become, will also have a bearing in the eventual outcomes of your life. What manifests around us is the overflow of who we truly are in that deep place of honest and sincere being. If you want to change your life, changing the manifestations around you is not the beginning of that journey: transforming your inner person is.

The advancement of your life is not pegged upon the behavior of people around you or the compliance of their attitudes to your expectation: it is built upon your persuasion that authentic transformation comes from within and not from without! The problem at hand is not the presence of disadvantage but the absence of your aptitude to subdue the challenges around you. There is no victory better than self-conquering. Develop you! Grow you! Humble you! Mature you! It is what you are becoming that has the power to change what you are experiencing. Simply put, If you are not growing, you are dying!

A majority of failed lives is because there is an excuse for it. On the converse, no one succeeds without locating a compelling reason to succeed - a sobering pull that draws you beyond the explanation of the mind towards fulfilling a goal called success! Success is due to a reason, and so is failure. That reason could be what you are running to or what you are running from. Whichever is the cause of your pursuit, ensure that you apprehend greatness, even significance. The definition of where you are going and why you are headed that way must become attractive enough to warrant the abandonment of mediocrity in your life. Regardless of how mighty and obvious the reason for failure stands out, it must never be given audience. No more excuses!!

Everyone is disadvantaged in one way or another. You are not special and your predicament is not unique. We all are faced with one enemy or the other and some of us have an array of challenges hidden behind a smile and you would never know it. My point is, commonise your issues, don’t specialise them. The cocktail of challenges that you face have not been concerted and marinated so as to destroy you, they have been weighed and measured to exactitude so as to deliver you to a place of greatness.

God never gave you anything that is too small or too inadequate to sort out your life. What He gave is in the right proportions, the right measure and the accurate dosage to deliver you from everything that threatens to keep you grounded. While over three quarters of human beings pick on an excuse to remain miserable, be in the quarter that picks a reason to advance. While some people will see problems and freeze, others will see the same thing and see opportunity! The mindset of a champion does not see defeat and impossibility, it identifies the doors, notices the opportunities, sees the chances, and prays for an open gate to maximise the gifts it has. No one and nothing is the problem in your life: you are the problem!

Your history is not for you to dwell on, it is a foundation for where you are going, a mere record of life in hindsight. Everything however lethal and hurtful, all things worked together for your good: but you must see it that way and accept that conclusion. Nothing happens to us, everything happens for us. “Successful people maintain a positive focus in life no matter what is going on around them. They stay focused on their past successes rather than their past failures, and on the next action steps they need to take to get them closer to the fulfillment of their goals rather than all the other distractions that life presents to them.” (Jack Canfield)

God gave you purpose so that as you overcome self-limitations, self-defeating tendencies and personal hindrances, you may apprehend anything and everything He has for you. Purpose is what God has said about you, what He has built in you and what He expects from you. Alignment to purpose is positioning yourself for a divine dimension of outcomes. It is not what life gives you that you take, it is what you demand from life that you should go for. Furthermore, it is what you demand of yourself! It is what you dig deep inside and pull out of your internal wells of riches! Without a clearly defined decision to follow after the original intention of God, planted deep inside of you, and silence every self-sabotage in whatever form it may appear, all efforts to become somebody, may be futile, redundant and inconsequential.

Choose to overcome the problem called self and life will begin to melt, morph and transform into miracles, progress and greatness! I love you and I am always praying for you!
