American rapper, singer and songwriter Kanye Omari West has claimed that he is the greatest artist that God has ever created.
Speaking during Pastor Joel Osteen's service at Lakewood Church in Houston on Sunday, the 42-year-old took the stage after being welcomed by Osteen and spoke at length about his renewed faith, saying the only superstar is Jesus.
“I know that God’s been calling me for a long time and the devil’s been distracting me for a long time,” he said.
“When I was in my lowest points, God was there with me and sending me visions and inspiring me, and I remember sitting in the hospital at UCLA after having a mental breakdown and there’s documentation of me drawing a church and (wanting to) start a church in the middle of Calabasas,”
In his speech, The Jesus Is King rapper also claimed that he has put his rudeness and cockiness behind him and now serving God.
“Because every time I stand up, I feel that I’m standing up and drawing a line in the sand and saying, ‘I’m here in service to God and no weapon formed against me shall prosper.’
“Jesus has won the victory. I told you about my arrogance and cockiness already. Now the greatest artist that God has ever created is now working for him.”
According to reports, after his speech at the service, West returned to Osteen’s megachurch to give a musical performance. West was accompanied by wife, Kim Kardashian West and daughter North West to the service.
The American rapper and music producer who is on the process of legally changing his name to Christian Genius Billionaire Kanye West, has been the talk all over the world after announcing that he is now a born-again Christian.
He held a listening party in Washington, D. C. a few weeks ago where he made the announcement confirming that he had converted to Christianity.
"I want to let you know that I am not here for your entertainment this afternoon," West told the crowd. "We are here to spread the gospel."
"Excuse me if I mispronounce anything," he added. "I am a recent convert. It means I recently got saved within this year," he said.
