Kenyatta University School of Law has emerged the overall winners of the second All Kenya Moot Court competition.
The competition was held last weekend at Kenyatta University Law School campus in Parklands.
Catholic University of east Africa came second while Kabarak University took position three.
Students from various law schools took part in the two-day event and engaged in litigation before judges inside moot courts.
A moot court is an extracurricular activity where participants take part in simulated proceedings, which also involves drafting of briefs and participating in oral arguments.
The event is meant to present students with a real court environment and to enable them learn how to research and articulate their knowledge of Law, which can be applied later in their professional life. Supreme Court judge Jackton Ojwang and Prof PLO Lumumba were among the five judges who listened to presentations at the event.
“Your ability to understand the Law and the facts of your case is very integral,” challenged PLO Lumumba.
