You were belittled! Eric Omondi tells Nadia Mukami, Masauti after Mbosso concert
Showbiz
By Diana Anyango | 5 months agoComedian Eric Omondi has taken to social media in a furious rant to condemn event organizers for giving foreign artistes priority and disregarding Kenyan artistes performing alongside them.
This is after a fan claimed that singers Nadia Mukami and Masauti were chased off the stage during their performance in Mombasa to allow Tanzanian singer Mbosso to perform.
“Can you imagine at yesterday’s concert Nadia Mukami and Masauti were chased off the stage just because of Mbosso and it’s his fault that he came late. Kenyans artists are just being treated as tr*sh,” wrote the fan.
Giving his two cents on his Instagram page, Eric questioned why the two artistes allowed the organizers to mistreat them as claimed. He added that his plans to push for change in the Kenyan music scene were still underway since many musicians have failed the industry.
“These Kenyan Artists wataendelea tu kuumia na Kudharauliwa mpaka siku ile wataniskia...Asiye skia la Mkuu Huvunjika guu...Anyway Plans are underway to bring up a totally new breed of musicians hawa washatuangusha,” said Eric.
However, according to Nadia, they had no way of defending the industry as expected, explaining that such actions do not require violence to solve.
In response, Eric stated that despite their circumstance, they should have put their foot down and demanded respect. Instead, Eric says they let everything slide and gave the promoters more reason never to take them seriously.
“My dear do not ever allow anyone to disrespect you!!! You guys were simply looked down upon!!! You were belittled!!! You were not that important and that has to stop now!!! The way you are treated will reflect the way you are paid. We have begun the conversation, we are putting systems in place but nyinyi mme kataa kuamka!!! People will only treat you the way you allow them to. Na Mkingoja tuwabembeleze mtangoja sanaa. Mezeni piriton, chukueni duvet mlaleee kabisaaaaaaaaaa,” wrote Eric.
Masauti is, however, yet to comment on the matter.
