By Davis Muli | 6 months agoPopular Jamaican artiste Konshens has announced that he is ready to perform in Nairobi and Mombasa. Through social media, the 36-year-old dancehall recording artiste said that he is more than ready to give Kenyans another electrifying performance.
Through a tweet, he further announced that his management team is already finalizing talks with three different entities to wrap up the deal.
“KENYA! my team just advised me that we are now in talks with 3 different entities! I told them stop playing with my emotions hit me when its final because mi ready again! ????. And I want both Nairobi and MOMBASA,” read the tweet from Konshens.
Born Garfield Spence, it will be remembered that Konshens brought Nairobi to a standstill with his electrifying performance in 2019 which left many revelers yearning for more.
Konshen’s announcement comes just days after Jamaican reggae artiste Shauna McKenzie aka Etana graced the Pamoja Festival that was held on October 30, 2021, at Ngong Racecourse. Etana’s arrival in the country marked the first major arrival by an international artiste in Kenya since March last year when the first case of Covid-19 was reported in the country.
“I felt Kenya’s love in 2016 and I saw it before that in 2012 when I performed while I was pregnant. However, in May 2019, it became clear to me that Kenya is my second home. The turnout was more than I had expected. The roar that came with songs like Weakness In Me, Love Song, I Am Not Afraid, People Talk and others were so loud that I couldn’t hear myself. I just allowed them to sing. I performed for two solid hours,” she said at an interview.
Etana’s arrival in the country signaled a possible return of world-class concerts that Nairobi has been known to host. This has also been fueled by the fact that the government lifted a nationwide curfew that had been in place since March 2020 to curb the spread of the coronavirus.
With the economy now opening up, the entertainment industry is slowly going back to life.
Other international artistes such as Koffi Olomide are also said to be scheduling concerts in the country. Details to be shared soon!
