Genre: Action & Adventure, Horror

Directed By: Adam Robitel

Rating: 6/10

Six people unwillingly find themselves locked in another series of escape rooms, slowly uncovering what they have in common to survive. Joining forces with two of the original survivors, they soon discover they have all played the game before.

Thumbs up:

If you enjoyed Adam Robitel’s work on “Insidious: The Last Key” or are fascinated by the contemporary craze of escape rooms in films like Saw, Cube, Exam, Fermat’s Room, and a variety of other trapped-in-a-room films, you are in for a treat. As the name suggests this is putting six people together like the original movie into different Escape Rooms, but this time it is people known as the champions - basically people who have beat the game before. This film is a fast-paced continuation from the last movie with an amazing set design incorporated into the VFX. The Escape Rooms and puzzles are even more creative.

Thumbs down:

The plot is still a little shallow. There are barely any motives behind the organisation. Besides, they get away with everything. The ending twist is kind of predictable which you can see coming, making it probably the weakest link in the movie.

If the ‘squid game’ bug bit you and you are dying to watch a thriller, this is the movie for you. The first Escape Room, as prequels go, was drastically better.
