A 33-year-old man has found himself on the wrong side of the law for allegedly stealing toothbrush and lipstick belonging to a woman within CID headquarters.
The suspect identified as James Kamau Waithera (pictured) is said to have committed the offence on may 3, 2017 at CID headquarters along Kiambu Road.
Police said that Kamau robbed Irene Muoti Muthengi of her handbag containing personal belongings. In the second count, Kamau was accused of handling stolen properties belonging to the complainant.
The handbag, according to police records, contained body lotions, lip stick, baby wipes, Sh200 and other properties worth Sh8,000 and belonging to the complainant.
Kamau who is said to have disappeared into a nearby forest was arrested days later with the stolen items.
He, however, denied the charges in court and was released on Sh50,000 bond. His trial begins on October 17.
