Ambira Boys High school form four leavers whose insult-laden video went viral online, has attracted the attention of President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Speaking during the Kenya Scouts Association (KSA) Patron’s Day, President Uhuru said that their behaviour was unacceptable and must face the consequences.

Uhuru added that he will not entertain indiscipline and insults from young people.

Directly referencing the video in which the students were clearly heard spewing vile insults towards Interior CS Fred Matiangi and his Education counterpart, Ambassador Amina Mohamed.

“I equally send a very strong warning to those young fellows who think that they can indiscriminately involve themselves in negative activities.

“We will not and shall not entertain indiscipline and abuse from our young people. You must learn to respect your elders, as I talk to you today, those boys are where they should be in order for them to be disciplined...

'If indeed you are ready to brag about cheating, then we will show you what this nation does to cheats and those who disrespect elders,” said the president.

The boys caught on camera bragging that they cheated in this year’s national examinations were later arrested by police in Siaya following similar condemnation by the Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinett.

“Those juveniles as you have described them have become persons of interest not because of what they said insulting prominent persons but their suspected involvement in examination cheating,” said Boinett.

According to Ambira High School Principal Thomas Odhiambo, the viral clip was made by the students while they set their books ablaze in what they called “academic fire.”
