System Rave at KICC

One of the biggest August holiday and back-to-school gospel gigs, the System Rave, courtesy of gospel outfit System Unit and KTN, Daylight Screens and Mo Sound, goes down at Kenyatta International Conference Centre (KICC) tonight evening. Top acts Daddy Owen, Gloria Muliro, Size 8, DK Kwenye Beat, Willy Paul, DJ Mo, emcee Njugush among others headline the show. Charges are Sh100 and a copy of The Standard newspaper.

Mwafaka Awards at KICC

Mwafaka Awards, an award ceremony that aims at recognising and appreciating Christian individuals for their work, excellence, careers and mentorships goes down at KICC this Sunday afternoon. The red carpet gala award ceremony features performances by gospel acts Rufftone, Bahati, Christ Cycoz among others. Doors open at 3pm with advance tickets going for Sh250 and gate charges at Sh300.

Prinsloo 7s and after-party in Nakuru

The fourth leg of the Safaricom 7s rugby circuit heads out to Nakuru this weekend at Nakuru Athletics Club (NAC) grounds and features a series of showbiz bonanzas including the official Prinsloo 7s after-party at Rafikiz Bar and Lounge tomorrow night. DJs Kaytrixx, Mr T, Nelly, Yungone and Inferno VJ’s Edgar Ace Paul will be on the decks.

Sauti Sol, Mobi at Taidys

Afro boy band Sauti Sol are the headline acts at Club Taidys in Nakuru as Monster Radio and Taidys, host the Monster Mega mix Prinsloo street bash tomorrow night. Decks men Mobi, NRuff, E, Lean, Jayson, Mr Vince and emcee Point Blank will perform for the night. Entry is Sh300, which is redeemable for drinks.

Rift Valley Festival at Naivasha

One of Kenya’s biggest three-day international music festivals, the Rift Valley Festival, celebrates its fourth edition at Naivasha this weekend. In conjunction with the monthly social circuit, Blankets and Wine, the Rift Valley festival goes down at Fisherman’s Camp on the shores of Lake Naivasha and features plenty of local and international performances including Just-A-Band, Mokoomba, Eric Wainaina, Racubah, Sou Sou and Maher, Matre, Paleface, Maia Von Lekow and Parking Lot Grass among others. Tickets are Sh2,000 per day or Sh4,000 for the weekend.

Fashion Trance at Ngong’ Racecourse

Enjoy the best of trendiest designs and displays thanks to the Fashion Trance fashion show, the designer’s edition that goes down at Ngong’ Racecourse tomorrow afternoon. Fashion enthusiasts also get to engage in interactive activities such as treasure hunting, fashion auctions and a trance fashion show. Ms Sunshine, Juliet Achieng’ and Vanessa Vonroe will be the guest performers for the day. Charges are Sh400 for advance and Sh500 at the gate.

Romanian deejay, musician, producer, composer and performer Edward Marian Ille commonly known as Edward Maya will perform at Ngong’ Racecourse, Nairobi at a concert dubbed Edward Maya Live in Nairobi Concert, tomorrow night. The global star has gained massive following thanks to his hit songs including Stereo Love, This is My Life and Desert Train, which have seen him on international tours all over the world. The Limelight Entertainment-hosted concert charges are Sh1,500 advance, Sh2,000 gate charges and Sh5,000 for VIP.

Reggae lovers are in for an exceptional time as popular performing arts joint, Sarakasi, hosts its end-of-month reggae concert, the Keeping Love Reggae Concert tonight. The concert is free and feature performances from local acts Sojourners, Sarakasi Acrobats and All Star DJs.
