Nigerian music star David Adedeji Adeleke popularly known as Davido is said to have purchased a mansion worth a fortune in Nigeria's leafy Banana Island neighbourhood in Lagos.
The obviously excited father-of-three took to his social media to tease fans with snippets of the mansion’s interior and flaunted an elevator that he says he had installed as he has always wanted to have one in his crib.
“Always wanted to go up at the crib like this,” he captioned a photo of his elevator buttons in a series of videos shared via his Instagram stories.
This is not new for the flamboyant US-born singer who reportedly owns a multi-million house in Atlanta, Georgia and several other properties in Nigeria.
Not so long ago, the 27-year-old Fall hitmaker disclosed that he gifted his staff a house, a move that caught some by surprise.
"Bought a house for my staff today ... great feeling!" wrote the star known for his benevolence towards his employees, friends, fans and admirers.
Fiancé's Covid-19 diagnosis
The Blow my Mind crooner recently shared a very touching message on Instagram of his fiancé Chioma Avril Rowland as she battled Covid-19.
In the message, Davido made it clear that he was staying strong for Chioma after she tested positive for the novel coronavirus. With Chioma in isolation, the award-winning singer took to social media and shared a picture with his son that he captioned, "Staying strong for momma, everywhere good".
Making public news of her diagnosis, Davido had earlier revealed he was on tour in the United States and met up in Nigeria with his fiancé who had jetted back from London.
“I came back recently from America after postponing my tour. My fiancé Chioma also came back from London recently with our baby. We had no symptoms and still both feel perfectly fine but because of our recent travel history, we decided to take ourselves and our all close associates we’ve come in recent contact with for the COVID-19 test on the 25th of March. Unfortunately, my fiancé’s results came back positive while all 31 others tested have come back negative including our baby,” he said.
Burna Boy beef
This past week, Davido was trending on social media after his counterpart Burna Boy took issue with him after he came out to describe himself and colleague Wizkid as the greatest African superstars.
Burna Boy in a Snapchat post that has now been deleted said: “You cannot play football; everybody knows you cannot play football and you are an embarrassment to the team but your daddy bought the football team.”
In a rejoinder, Davido dropped a subtle reply via his official Twitter account. “Love to my fellow ON G,” Davido tweeted.
