Wayne Rooney’s free transfer to Everton seems to have been timely enough for the star to fly to Africa – Tanzania for the pre-season friendly game against Gor Mahia.
No sooner had Manager Ronald Koeman confirmed that all players would be making the trip to East Africa, as part of their partnership with new sponsors SportPesa, Rooney had this to say:
"I'm looking forward to it, should be a good trip, "It'll be nice and hopefully I'll get on the pitch and get some game time. It's good when you go away with the team.
It's good to be around the hotel with the players, spend more time with them and get to know them more. "I've never been to Tanzania before, so I'm really looking forward to it”
With the game having been slated for July 12th at the Taifa Stadium, team Everton landed in Tanzania and photos their interactions and activities have been making rounds on social media.
Manchester United’s all-time top scorer Wayne Rooney who seems to be the man of the match has fans all excited and is set to be in action during the game against Gor Mahia.
Since their arrival, team Everton has been taking trips around Tanzania and experiencing the country’s culture as was seen in some of the photos where they were drinking local tea.
Our Kenyan team Gor Mahia touched down in Dar much earlier and have been training at Taifa stadium ahead of the big game which we all hope shall be see them prove their skills and even score some goals.
