Six sacks of bhang with a street value of Sh6 million have been nabbed by the Northern Corridor Patrol Police unit at Daru-salam, near Mtito-Andei town along Mombasa-Nairobi highway.
According to a police report shared by Kibwezi sub-county Police Commander Ben Chagulo, each sack of bhang had 5760 sticks of the drug.
" The mobile patrol suspected a Toyota fielder and flagged it to stop where it was searched and the bhang found. The driver, Abel Abuya has been detained at Mtito-Andei police station," reads Chagulo's report in part.
Police are preferring to present the suspect tomorrow at Makindu law courts to answer to an offence of trafficking narcotic drugs.
Samples of the narcotics will be subjected to tests at government chemists while the hunt for the owner of the car continues.
