Makueni, Kenya: The race for the Makueni Senate seat has intensified, with candidates reaching out to voters barely three weeks to the polls.

Kethi Kilonzo returned to her late father’s Mbooni rural home where she kicked off her campaigns to succeed him. Her convoy arrived at Kikima market shortly after 3pm where thousands of supporters received her with songs and dance.

Former Kibwezi MP Prof Philip Kaloki was in his home turf where he met leaders as the campaigns kicked off officially.

The two, together with former Kilome MP John Harun Mwau and Jane Kitundu, were cleared to contest the seat by the electoral body.
