More men resort to breast reductions as age and obesity betray them

More and more men are getting something off their chest – their man boobs.

Demand for “moob jobs” has soared 50% in six months.

Male breast reduction, called gynecomastia, costs about £3,300 and is now the UK’s ninth most popular cosmetic procedure, says private healthcare search engine WhatClinic.com.

Age and obesity are the most common causes of man boobs.

But booze, drugs and anabolic steroids all trigger hormone imbalance which leads to them.

What Clinic’s Emily Ross said: “Female breast augmentation is the most common plastic surgery treatment, up 98%. But more men want breast reduction.

"Most patients are regular guys who simply want to go to the beach and not feel self-conscious.”

Liposuction is second, with WhatClinic inquiries up 103%. Rhinoplasty – nose jobs – is next, up 87%.

Fat transfer, ear reshaping and eyelid surgery are also among the top 10 favourite procedures.

By contrast, the bottom has dropped out of bum implants, with demand rising a measly 15%.

And nipple reduction suffered a 36% downward tweak.

The fastest growing op was full abdominoplasty, which involves removing excess skin and fat from the waist. Inquiries rocketed 264% for the £5,300 procedure.

Searches for liposuction and abdominoplasty combined, at £6,300, were up 172%.

Britain’s cosmetic surgery market is estimated to be worth around £3.6billion.
