Thousands of Embakasi East residents flocked Embakasi primary school, for a free medical camp organized by Citam Embakasi, led by Rev. Martin Bandu (senior Pastor). The aim of the medical camp was to reach out to the less fortunate in social economic status .The Chief organizer, emphasized the need for the free medical camp following the doctors’ strike which made medical treatment quite expensive for so many people who cannot afford medical insurance cover.
Therefore, the congregation of the church where Bandu serves saw it wise not only to preach the gospel to the people but also to give back to the community, as some may call it a modern C.S.R (Corporate Social Responsibility) . ‘We want the whole community to be healed physically, mentally and wholistically. Hence, drawing the theme from 3rd John 2nd, wholistic healing for the whole community” Said Martin Bandu
The event which took place from 20th to 22nd April 2017 attracted quite a number of well-wishers and sponsors such as; the standard Group Limited, Kenya Medical Association, Komarock health care, Kenya Airways, Rophine field junior school, Medanta clinics, Mariakani cottage hospital, Molar dentals clinic, Administration Police medical training college just to name a few.
