In just six years, Standard Group's Radio Maisha's has risen to be among the most listened-to radio stations in the country. Head of Radio Maisha Thomas Japanni said the station had not only managed to bridge the gap with competitors, but had also doubled its frequencies. "The biggest challenge we face in radio is the cartels in the industry. I am, however, happy to report that statistics have still shown us to be among the best despite this challenge," he said yesterday during celebrations to mark the station's sixth anniversary. The Radio Maisha team attributed its success to well-researched and comprehensive news pieces, timely and current music. Mwende Macharia who hosts the Drive Show attributed the station's success to the digital revolution and consumer feedback.
