“I am so impressed with what is happening here in Kenya. In West Africa, there are no companies and corporate firms that get involved to support albinism, not even the media,” said Keita at the Standard Group Centre.
Standard Group’s Managing Director (Print) Neema Wamae described the campaign as an opportunity to educate the society. “The challenge that we have is that with all the influx of different kinds of media coming in, movies included, people are getting misled about what albinism is,” Wamae said. Ms. Wamae encouraged kenyans to comeo ut in large numbers to participate in the walk. Standard Group is the media sponosr for the campaign as well as Safaricom, Kenya Institute of Management, Mo Sound and amonth other sponsors.
