Court issues arrest warrant against Nyandarua county commissioner

A court has issued a warrant of arrest against a county commissioner and an under-secretary in the Ministry of Interior.

Employment and Relations Court judge Stephen Radido in Nakuru Monday issued a warrant of arrest against Nyandarua County Commissioner Samuel Kimiti and Athur Osiya after they failed to honour court orders.

They had been summoned to attend court on November 16 but did not show up.

The judge directed the deputy registrar to liaise with the office of the Inspector General of Police and ensure the two are arrested and arraigned in court for contempt.

He further suspended any hearing and further proceeding of the suit filed in court until the two are arrested.

The county commissioner had been ordered by the court to reinstate Kipipiri chief Lucy Methu, who he had interdicted in October 21.

The under-secretary on the other hand signed the letter of interdiction handed over to the chief.
