Wananchi plans to take Zuku regional

Wananchi group has announced a Sh8 billion business strategy for the East Africa Region. The group said the ambitious strategy to comb Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda markets would grow its existing and new services like broadband Internet, cable pay television, and voice services to SMEs within the region. The group is also investing in it’s cable TV, and internet programme, which runs under the Zuku banner, and plans to reach over one million homes in the next five years. Phase one of this project, which has focused on Kileleshwa, Kilimani, Lavington, and Hurlingham in Nairobi is complete. "The next phase which will focus on South B and South C, Westlands and Parklands will be completed by first half of next year," he said adding that the rest of Nairobi and Mombasa are scheduled to be completed by second half of 2011.
