PlayStation Network suffers outage as gamers take advantage of Black Friday deals

The PlayStation Network suffered a complete outage on Black Friday leaving players unable to access various online services.

As well as online gaming, the music, video and game store services were also brought down by the demand.

The Japanese gaming giant said its "engineers are working to resolve the issue, and we thank you for your patience".

Many of the biggest deals on Black Friday have included the PlayStation 4 console, leading to a huge influx of new players.

Sony has also been running online offers through the PlayStation Store.
