The rising tensions between residents of West Pokot and Turkana Counties were evident Wednesday after leaders from the two areas faced-off in the Senate.

Senators John Lonyangapuo (West Pokot) and John Munyes vented their anger over the insecurity situation in region and at some point the debate degenerated into apportioning blames.

It took the intervention of Speaker Ekwee Ethuro to restore order in the House.

He  directed Yusuf Haji facilitate a meeting between the two and Interior Cabinet Secretary Joseph Ole Lenku.

Munyes had resisted attempts to make him reveal the number of guns in the hands of Kenya Police Reservists.
