Palaver

All it took was one nose to be bent out of shape at a certain village market without a name (unlike those in my rural area) to send a glittering judicial career into a tailspin. And the results of the signs we ignore like “Mbwa Kali” and “Please Queue Here” hit the airwaves yesterday. And now, one Rebecca Kerubo is probably about to get a fee note for legal services rendered. And in news from the other arm of government, the alleged upper cut (that never was?) by Makadara MP Mike Mbuvi Sonko that could have floored Githu Muigai is punching its way into interesting territory. Well, noone told Justice Willy Mutunga that it will be a celebrity job!

Mr Vice President, Sir; I know you are a busy man, but now that the Swiss have announced that they are sitting on almost one billion dollars in stolen assets linked to leaders of four nations touched by the Arab Spring — Egypt, Libya, Syria and Tunisia — any chance you can make a quick courtesy call to the Swiss about the small matter of Kenya’s cash in their banks. I seem to recall that they wired back $1.7 billion stolen by the late Ferdinand Marcos of the Philippines and Mobutu Sese Seko of Zaire.

Remember Uma Karuna Thurman, the American actress and model? Three marriages and three children later she is still saddling her children with tongue-twisters for names. The first is called Maya Thurman-Hawke, and the second-born Levon Roan Thurman-Hawke. Now Uma and fiancé Arpad Busson just got a third child. Trouble is they have named her Rosalind Arusha Arkadina Altalune Florence Thurman-Busson, or “Luna” in short. I know where Arusha is, but the rest are punishment. No wonder Sweden has banned anyone naming their child Brfxxccxxmnpcccclllmmnprxvclmnckssqlbb11116, which is apparently pronounced “Albin”. And that ends any hopes I had of learning Swedish.

And finally...

The Taliban is always in the news for all the wrong reasons. When they taken time off from blowing up Allied Command troops and lorries, they bragged about trying to assassinate 14-year-old Malala Yousafzai, who dared question a Taliban ban on educating girls. Now they are complaining about not getting positive Press coverage over the bothed hit! Somebody wake me!
