Family Bank sets eyes on 100 branches

NAIROBI: Mid-tier lender, Family Bank, is eyeing nine more branches to bring its network to 100. Over the weekend, the bank opened a new branch in Wote Town, Makueni County. The opening of the branch, which was witnessed by Makueni Governor Kivutha Kibwana brings to 91, the number of branches.
Family Bank Managing Director Peter Munyiri said, “We will continue to fulfill our mandate to our customers ensuring that we enhance our product offering,” said Munyiri. Having opened three branches in Mlolongo, Maua and Kahawa West towards the end of last year, the bank wants to open nine more branches with the aim of inching closer to attaining tier one status. “We will be opening more branches this year to attain our target of 100 branches, and which will mark the final stretch of phase one of our expansion,” said Munyiri.
