Personal training has become increasingly popular and with it, the number of trainers is on the increase. When selecting a trainer, it is important to consider a few factors.

  • Qualifications

Check whether or not your trainer has qualifications and has a certification that is current. There are internationally recognised diploma courses available locally.

  • Experience

Find out if your trainer has experience, how many years, and if it is relevant to your particular goals.

  • References

Word of mouth referrals are best but don't be afraid to ask your trainer for references from clients, past and present.

  • Agree terms in advance

You will be working closely with your trainer so it is important to not only make sure your personalities are compatible, but that you agree on things like price, goals, timelines, special needs and injury management.
