Key seminar to address role of trust in business

Trust is one of the biggest determinants of business success yet the less talked-about in many organisations.

According to Raiser resource Group, the Nairobi-based corporate and leadership training company, enhanced trust reduces the cost of doing business and boosts profits as well as brand value.

“In trust-filled organisations the speed of doing business goes up. Imagine how much time and energy is lost to office politics due mistrust,” said Raiser Managing Director Ian Ng’ethe.

Raiser has organised seminars on August 30 and 31 in Nairobi to be addressed by renowned public speaker Stephen MR Covey, who is also the author of best-selling book Speed of Trust. “Organisations can have an excellent strategy and a strong ability to execute; but the net result can be destroyed by a low trust tax or multiplied by a high tax dividend.”

Ng’ethe said on August 30 Covey will address 100 Kenyan CEOs while on the August 31 will be an open session for interested participants.

He said trust had become very critical in today’s global world and knowledge economy, which revolve around partnering and relationships. He said trust is key in establishing, growing, extending and restoring relationship with stakeholders such as customers, suppliers and co-workers.

“In the recent issue of banking you have to ask yourself what if the stakeholder (the directors and board, the auditors and the regulator) had all acted with trust at their core would we have three banks going down?” said Ng’ethe.
