Uwezo Fund Board warns public against fraudsters

NAIROBI, KENYA: Uwezo Fund Oversight Board has raised alarm of conmen and women defrauding members of the public to process Uwezo Fund application forms.

Through a website www.uwezofund.org, the fraudsters are asking unsuspecting members of public to part with Sh375 to process the loan forms.

“The fraudsters are promising unsuspecting members of the public that they could apply as individuals for Uwezo Fund loans, online, pay Sh375 Bank ledger fee, through a given paybill number, and they will be disbursed with the applied funds from 15th of Next month in all the 47 counties,” says a statement sent to newsroom by Monica Omoro, Fund’s Corporate Affairs Communications Manager.

Uwezo Fund warns the public not to pay anyone any money on promise of facilitating the Loans applications processes as forms can be downloaded free of charge from its website, www.uwezo.go.ke, can also be obtained from all Constituency Development Fund (CDF) Offices countrywide as well as from the Uwezo Fund Boards headquarters offices, Lonrho House, 16th Floor.

“Our email address is [email protected] and the Uwezo Fund Board does not issue individual loans to its beneficiary groups of Women, Youth and persons with Disability who must meet the loan’s eligibility criteria available on the official website to qualify for Loan disbursements.”
