Kenya’s diversity showcased in regional Trade Fair

Kenya’s positioning as the business hub of East Africa has seen the hospitality and tourism industry grow in leaps and bounds to become the most thriving sector in the economy of the country.  In recent years, the hospitality industry has become the driving force of investment for local and international business owners and investors.

The recent hospitality fair in Indaba, South Africa saw the Kenyan stand sponsored by the Kenya Tourism Board scoop the 2nd best overall stand.  This win has further gained the confidence of local and international tourists, business travellers and the world at large.

The East African tourism sector with a main focus on Kenya is seemingly attracting major investment that has seen the bed capacity of the country increase.

Some of the world’s leading hotels setting shop in the country including Kempinski, Marriot, Emaar, Radisson Blu, Park Inn Hilton, Best Western and Rezidor have already broken ground as Kenya establishes itself as the financial, travel and business hub of East Africa.

Analysts have also reported that global brands are keen on partnerships with developers who have the ability to manage their properties in the region.

It is with this in mind that the Kenya Hospitality Trade Fair sets foot to the region in July this year.  Deemed to be the regions 1st business trade fair tailored specifically for the Hospitality Industry, the exhibition was conceived out of a growing need in the travel and tourism sector for an engaging platform that spoke to the business owners who are keen to expand their business, engage with the international community and widen their reach in the region.

KHTF 2013 is an annual business trade fair running from 25th – 27th July 2013 at the KICC and promises to be 3 days of pure business interaction that connects local, regional and international investors from the worldwide markets to engage, interact and seal business deals while building lasting business relationships.

Themed “Re-defining the hospitality industry in East & Central Africa”, the fair will bring together service providers, suppliers and manufacturers under one roof to interact with hospitality industry professionals.  The visitor base will include hotel owners and managers, regional investors, procurement managers, food & beverage managers, executive chefs, among other guests who have decision making power.

Alongside KHTF, Slujan Events in partnership with Eastern African Economic Chambers of Commerce (EAECC) will introduce the first edition of Hotel Summit East Africa (HOSEA). Under the theme “Investing in Hospitality Industry: The Next Frontier”, the premier conference is slated for 26th July 2013 at Kenyatta International Convention Centre, Nairobi-Kenya.

Co-located with the Kenya Hospitality Trade Fair (KHTF), the Hotel Summit comes as a timely business networking solution and viable point of convergence for organizations and individuals seeking strategic knowledge, C-level partnerships and insights into the region’s most promising sector.

According to organizer, Slujan Events, KHTF 2013 further intends to squarely share insights with the industry stakeholders on pro-active partnership with government and the public on initiatives that will ensure that the hospitality industry grows rapidly in an organized, efficient, economical and ethical manner.

Both the trade fair and conference will provide a unique and all important networking and sourcing platform in East & Central Africa and will expose the local and regional industry to the vast opportunities across the globe while increasing awareness on the latest innovations and trends in the industry.

By the year 2020, Africa has been projected to the fastest growing continent and the Hospitality Industry will be at the forefront in Kenya as is the case today.  With a vibrant hospitality industry that is fast growing in leaps and bounds, Kenya offers the best in hospitality establishments.

With the Hospitality industry in Kenya raking in billions of shillings in tourism totalling to an average of 32.8% annually, the industry’s hotel establishments have a net worth of over Sh20 billion.

KHTF 2013 is the event that connects businesses to the most thriving industry and offers all hospitality solutions in one global place.

Now, it is time for Kenya to show that it has the best in hospitality supplies, equipment and service provision.
