Leading edible oil, fats and soap manufacturer, Pwani Oil has made a first in innovation with the release into market a spill-free container for its Fresh-Fri cooking oil.

During the re-launch attended by media practitioners at the Nyali Cinemax amphitheatre, Mombasa, the firm said it has evolved the packaging to address changing consumer needs.

“The new pack with curves inspired by our beautiful African women has a comfortable easy to grip handle, a non-drip spout, measuring cap and a clear strip showing how much Fresh-Fri oil you have left,’’ said Rajul Malde, Pwani Oil director of strategy and business planning.

The new container packaging for Fresh Fry cooking oil, which was Pwani Oil’s first premium brand launched in 1993, will be available in the market from today in 250ml, 500ml, one litre, two-litre and three- litre containers.

Others will be in five litres, 10 litres and 20 litre containers. “In efforts to satisfy Fresh- Fri ever growing demands in the larger East African region, we are launching the product in Mwanza, Kampala and Kigali in Rwanda this weekend respectively,’’ Malde said.

Pwani Oil Chief Executive Officer, Peter Beard said a recent research study carried out by Consumer Insight suggests that  brands differentiation  and package functionality  enhancement all rate highly with  consumers when making purchasing decisions.

“For a long time, we have been committed to enhancing consumer experience and improving the convenience of our ranger of products,’’ Beard said.

The relaunch comes after a successful media campaign last year dubbed, Pwani Life that set the company’s corporate tone. “ With the re-branding, the corporate perception about Pwani has changed.

Our range of product brands are now more accepted and we are confident that our new corporate & brand identity will move Pwani to the next level by adding value to our consumers through genuine innovation propositions,’’ Beard explained.

Standard Group’s Assistant Director, Commercial, Mr Lawrence Njiru commended Pwani Oil for the steady innovations.

‘’We are proud to be associated with Pwani Oil as a media company and will continue offering our services through our reputable range of products like Standard Newspaper, KTN, Radio Maisha, Outdoor Media and Standard Online,’’ Njiru said.
