Kitutu Masaba Member of Parliament Walter Nyambati has become the latest legislator to lose his seat after Kisii High court nullified his election on Friday.

Kisii Resident Judge Milton Makhandis in delivering the ruling said that the MP was elected irregularly over claims of reported anomalies.

Justus Omiti, a voter had sued Nyambati and returning officer Lawrence Ole Sempele and the Interim Independent Electoral Commission as second and third respondents respectively.

Omiti’s lawyer, Otiende Amollo in his submissions asked the court to nullify the election, as it was characterised with irregularities as form 17 A had not been filled before the results were announced.

Nyambati, who is the vice chair of the Parliamentary Service Commission, becomes the 10th MP to lose his seat in election petitions.
