Foreigner insults guards, calls lady a monkey at the Lavington Mall

Investigations were on Sunday, October 6 launched against a member of staff of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) for insulting guards and racially abusing a lady at the Lavington Mall.

This comes after the secretary of Innovation, Digital and Diaspora Communication in the office of the president, Dennis Itumbi, through his twitter account called for action.

According to Itumbi, a lady who was at the scene tried to calm him down but the man dismissed her referring to her as a monkey.

“A concerned lady whose only interest was to protect the good name of your organization tried to calm him down and he dismissed her as a Monkey,” tweeted Itumbi.

ICRC responded by confirming that the man who was posted by Itumbi was indeed their employee and that necessary action will be taken after investigations are complete.

“We confirm that this is our staff and vehicle. We do not condone insulting behavior and racism by our staff. We are investigating the matter and will take the necessary action. Apologies to those involved” responded the ICRC

The international body further added that they do not tolerate such kind of behavior and went on to apologise to those affected.

In September 2018 a Chinese citizen Liu Jiaqi was arrested after he was caught on camera calling Kenyans and President Uhuru Kenyatta monkeys among other insults.
