Competition in the medium to heavy commercial truck sector is set to go a notch higher following the launch of a new line of Fuso trucks in Kenya.

Simba Corporation Chief Executive Officer, Dinesh Kotecha, said Fuso Trucks are designed to address the growth potential shifting to developing markets in African countries.

“Kenya is developing its infrastructure and it is expected that there will be a tremendous growth in the construction and related sector and players in this sector need reliable trucks,” said Mr Kotecha.

FUSO has been present in the Kenya since early 70’s with a wide range of vehicles. The FH range has been known in the market as the King of the Road, which Simba sold more than 13,000 units.

“Simba is set to take full ownership of Mombasa-based Associated Vehicle Assemblers (AVA), such that we are a fully Kenyan owned company assembling vehicles in Kenya by Kenyans to build Kenya,” said Mr Kotecha.
