Former Commissioner of Police Maj Gen (Rtd) Hussein Ali has said he is grateful for the decision by the International Criminal Court (ICC) judges to let him off the hook over Post Election Violence crimes.

Ali on Wednesday wished the other four Kenyans whose cases were confirmed the best of luck.

Ali also wished the Post Election Violence victims and Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) the best in the days to come saying justice and truth will prevail.

"I am a happy man as you can see for being vindicated by the court. We cannot discuss much on the ruling because we have to protect the sanctity and respect of the legal process that is ongoing," he said.

He congratulated Tinderet MP Henry Kosgey whose charges were also not confirmed for being vindicated by the court.

He also hoped there will be justice for all based on the evidence and facts that will be in place.

He said he has no regrets for working as the commissioner of police, which led him to the court.

"I have no regrets at all and I am proud for having been the commissioner of police of Kenya. I am happy with the ongoing reforms there which I believe will help Kenyans."

Ali addressed a press conference for the first time in Nairobi since he was named as a suspect of the post poll chaos in December 2010.

His remarks also came a day after ICC chief prosecutor Luis Moreno-Ocampo declared he will not appeal the dismissal of charges against him and Kosgey.

Ocampo however said the two are under investigation.

Ali said he wished the four suspects Uhuru Kenyatta, William Ruto, Francis Muthaura and Joshua Sang whose cases will go for trial good luck and speed justice.

Ali was accompanied by his lawyers Evans Monari, Gerishom Otachi and Christine Duba.

ICC pre trial chamber II presiding judge Ekaterina Trendafilova said the Chamber found that the evidence presented did not provide substantial grounds to believe that the Kenya Police participated in the attack in Nakuru and Naivasha.

Ali was accused of facilitating attacks against supporters of the ODM by Mungiki sect members in the two towns.
